Conventions used in this guide
Look for the following formatting conventions and annotations in this guide.
- We use bold formatting for:
- UI items such as buttons and labels.
- Keyboard sequences.
- Emphasis of key terms and phrases within a paragraph. (Bold formatting for emphasis should be used sparingly.)
- We annotate examples as follows. Note that some examples might be followed by parenthetical explanations.
- ✅ Green checkmark icon for examples of correct or recommended usage
- ❌ Red x-mark icon for examples of incorrect or avoidable usage
- We use double quotes to call out a term as a term, for example, in explanatory paragraphs in the word list. Double quotes mark out both "use" and "don't use" terms in body text but not in examples.
